2024-25

1. Workshop HDFC Securities: Mock Trading

RGCMS IIIC organised a workshop on HDFC Securities: Mock Trading with the goal of analysing and enhancing the connection between mock trading platforms and economic education. The workshop aimed to ensure that the simulated trading environment accurately reflects real-world economic principles. During the session, Mr. Gangadhar Thorat, Growth Manager, shared valuable insights into the company, provided expertise on real-world trading and how markets react to economic events, and addressed students’ queries effectively. The workshop was attended by 60 students and included hands-on training in the lab. Additionally, platform developers worked closely to ensure that economic indicators and market behaviours were explained thoroughly, and technical challenges in the simulation were addressed to accurately reflect real-world scenarios.

2. Workshop on Capital Line –Database

RGCMS IIIC organized a workshop on the Capital Line Database, which provided comprehensive insights into historical financial data, including schedule-level details, shareholding patterns, stock quotes, share pricing data (spanning up to 10 years), corporate announcements, financial news, press releases, and alerts. The event was conducted on 17th January 2025.

Mr. L.K. Sridharan, Manager at Capital Line, explained that Capitaline is a reliable Indian corporate database with extensive coverage of both listed and major unlisted companies. The database is built on company disclosures in India and offers powerful analytical tools for extensive querying and research, enabling efficient access to information and quick decision-making. In addition to his presentation, Mr. Sridharan provided hands-on training in the lab, which emphasized management application, critical thinking, and global business understanding.

The interactive querying module allowed students to search for companies based on various parameters, including financial, qualitative, and event-driven criteria, such as management changes, corporate guidance changes, and insider trading. A total of 99 students attended the session, during which they explored tools for technical analysis, stock charts, and financial data, including daily share prices, beta, standard deviation, moving averages, and bulk/block deals.

3. Session on Industrial Relations Fostering Workspace Harmony for inclusive growth

RGCMS IIIC organized a session on “Industrial Relations: Fostering Workplace Harmony for Inclusive Growth,” on 29 March 2025. which offered comprehensive insights into the crucial role of industrial relations in promoting a harmonious work environment and ensuring inclusive growth.
The session was led by Mr. Nilesh, who began by highlighting the significance of industrial relations in today’s dynamic business environment. He discussed how strong industrial relations contribute to building a collaborative workplace culture that supports both inclusive growth and the achievement of organizational goals.

To enhance understanding, Mr. Nilesh shared practical examples and recent case studies illustrating key concepts. Participants actively engaged throughout the session, asking insightful questions and contributing to the discussion.

4. Session on “National Securities Depository Limited – Market Ka Eklavya Program

RGCMS IIIC, in collaboration with MOU partner WX Consultant and as part of an initiative by National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), organized an online session on April 1, 2025. The session, conducted under the “Market Ka Eklavya” program, aimed to educate students about the functioning of the securities market and the pivotal role of NSDL in dematerialization and investor services.

The objective of the session was to promote financial literacy, enabling students to make informed and responsible investment decisions. It provided valuable insights into personal finance management, investment options, the workings of the stock market, and the regulatory safeguards available to investors.

A key focus of the session was to offer real-world industry exposure, thereby enhancing practical learning and increasing students’ awareness of key financial concepts such as “Investment” and “Systematic Investment Plan (SIP)”.

5. Session on “Financial Literacy”

RGCMS IIIC, in collaboration with its MOU partner WX Consultant, organized an educational visit on July 28, 2024, aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of personal finance and investment literacy. The session focused on key areas such as personal finance management, stock markets, investment options, and the regulatory protections available to investors.

The purpose of the visit was to provide real-world industry exposure, support practical learning, and improve students’ familiarity with important financial concepts such as “Investment” and “Systematic Investment Plan (SIP)”. As part of the visit, students also received insights into financial market certifications, research opportunities, and training programs offered by NISM (National Institute of Securities Markets).

A total of 90 students and 8 faculty members actively participated in the Financial Literacy Awareness Session. The guest speaker, Dr. Hiral Trivedi Pathak, an official trainer for Financial Literacy Initiatives, delivered an engaging talk that emphasized the importance of financial knowledge. Dr. Pathak also educated the participants about the roles of BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange) in India’s financial ecosystem.

6. A Session on Budget 2024 A road map for economic growth

An informative online session titled “Budget 2024: A Road Map for Economic Growth” was organized on 2nd August 2024, exclusively for teaching and non-teaching staff. The session aimed to highlight the importance of budget literacy for all staff members—not just economists or financial experts—by presenting the key highlights of the Union Budget 2024 in a simplified and accessible manner. It sought to enhance awareness and understanding of the budget’s relevance to public administration, institutional functioning, and overall economic development. The speaker addressed practical concerns such as the implications of budgetary announcements on administrative policies, workplace modernization, and career development opportunities. Emphasis was placed on how the budget outlines India’s economic direction, prioritizing long-term infrastructure and structural reforms over short-term populist measures. The session served as a valuable platform for broadening budget-related knowledge among the staff.

7. A training session on Organizational Behavior

To promote interpersonal effectiveness, team collaboration, and a positive work culture within the institution, a comprehensive training session on Organizational Behavior was conducted on 28th November 2024, specifically for the non-teaching staff. The session emphasized the significance of understanding organizational behavior in fostering a harmonious and productive workplace. Led by Mr. Manish Jha, a professional trainer from Squad Infotech, the training was designed to be interactive, engaging, and closely aligned with the participants’ daily work experiences. It highlighted how understanding human behavior at work significantly contributes to institutional growth and professional satisfaction. Notably, both teaching and non-teaching staff shared their experiences during the session, which helped in recognizing diverse workplace challenges and perspectives.

2023-24

Local Industrial visit to – CETP, (Common Effluent Treatment Plant),Turbhe, Navi Mumbai.

Local Industrial visit to – CETP,(Common Effluent Treatment Plant) visit was aimed to promote business ethics, environmental concern, and social responsibility is crucial for the sustainable development of both businesses and society as a whole. Taking students on a tour of the factory, where they could see first-hand how waste and sludge water is treated was an excellent educational opportunity. Multi-stage filtration process and learning how the treated water can be reused for activities like watering plants helps students understand the practical applications of environmental stewardship. The visit was taken on 30th April,2024, where 125 students accompanied.

One Day I.V at Kruger Ventilations India

On March 6th, 2024, 19 students participated in a day-long visit to Kruger Ventilations in Asagaon, organized by Kruger and RGCMS. The objective was to gain insights into the operations function and overall management of the company. The students embarked on a day trip to various departments within Kruger Ventilations, exploring its operational facets. The Kruger Ventilations India visit proved to be a valuable learning experience for the students, offering practical insights into operations and management functions while also promoting social awareness and enhancing interpersonal skills.

 

Adani Thermal Power Plant

One day local IV was planned at Adani Power Plant, Dhanu on 5th february,2024.To Understand best and sustainable practices in running a coal based power plant.To better the concept of Power Station Practices in operational aspects.Students asked questions & got their queries answered at visits.It was observed that apart from learning management functions the visit brought a great sense of social awareness, team cohesiveness & leadership & management skills among students in respect to their tentative specialization in Future.

 

A day Local I.V. – National Stock Exchange of India Limited

The I.V. visit was taken to NSE with the motive to make students aware Role and Criticality of Financial Advisors regarding investor protection in the digitalized World and is correlated with PO2&PO4.With the collaboration with National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) and the IEPFA, under the aegis of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India along with National Stock Exchange of India Limited. Overall 64 students accompanied.

 

2022-23

1. A day Local I.V. – Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd.

A day Local I.V. – Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd.To learn operations function and overall management at ship building company I.V. committee took permission from Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd.Total number of students accompanied were 40.

Mr.Satya Narayan Pradhan AGM- MDC(HR) and Mr. Anil Dhavase gave a session on the company history and ongoing projects and even answered all queries and questions asked. The students were taken for a trip to the shop floor where they learnt how war ships, submarines are made .It was observed that apart from learning management functions the visit brought respect for the company visited and the nation too.

 

2. CETP, TBIA. Turbhe

A Local I.V. – CETP, TBIA. Turbhe was taken on 3rd April 2023 to promote business ethics, environment concern & social responsibility while doing business among students I.V. committee took permission from CETP, TBIA. Turbhe overall 30 students accompanied for the Local IV.Mr. Mahesh Patil a session on the company history & ongoing projects & even answered all queries & questions asked. Later the students were taken for a tour across the factory to the shop floor where they learnt how waste/ sludge water is treated through multi stages of filtration, churning & finally water is treated enough to be used for reuse in activities such as watering the plants, etc.

It was observed that students did ask questions & got their queries answered

 

2021-22

1. Virtual I.V.: Amul company

Virtual Industrial Visit was arranged for students were conducted. An introduction to Amul Company was given & automated video archive was used to conduct virtual industrial visit of Amul company’s ice cream & butter manufacturing shop floors were showcased..
